Posters together 2.png

music posters

Three posters designed based on three different pieces of music. The designs are a product of my associations when listening to the tracks, which are translated into strange imagery.

A 6 in the Morning by William

This tune had a sort of bouncy feeling to it, while having a sort of spacious echo. My mind immediately thought of outer space, strong and dreamlike colours and a lonely astronaut. Originally I wanted to the astronaut to be bouncing on a trampoline to reference the bouncy beat, but the more floaty design I ended up with fit the tune better.

2212 by A Saner Lynch

This track was dominated by a cold, haunting electronic sound. Throughout the tune there is also a sort of hollow howl, like a windy storm. I imagined a wast and cold wasteland, with both isolation and a creeping sensation of danger. The poster depicts a man walking through a barren landscape in deep snow. Behind him, in the horizon, some trees can be seen, and further behind them some tall, monstrous wolves stalks the bearded figure.

Supermarche Dreams by Gym Fungus

This was a almost strange optimistic tune a weird beat. I began thinking of TV Shop commercials, broad smiles and 70's dancing. My first sketches were of a sleazy car salesman, a drink glass made of a fungus (inspired of the artist's name, no doubt), but ended up with a dancing spaghetti-legged man. His strange dance movements, dumb smile coupled with the uneven panel background illustrated my interpretation of the track quite good.
